Students in our summer intensive program can take up to 6 credit hours and a minimum of 3 credit hours. Program fees for the summer intensive program differ depending on how many credit hours a student takes.

Students traveling on a U.S. passport do not need a visa for the Summer Intensive Program, as U.S. passport holders may remain in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days. Students who are not traveling on a U.S. passport should check with their study abroad office and the appropriate consulate to determine whether a visa is required based on their citizenship.

No. Because the Summer Intensive Program is shorter in length, Italian language courses are not offered or required during the summer.

All summer Intensive students are billed directly by Spring Hill College. All program costs and fees must be paid in full before students arrive in Bologna.

Yes. Students may complete IDS 490: Interdisciplinary Internship during the summer program. Students should consult their academic advisor to confirm how the credit will transfer back to their home institution. More information is available on the Internships and Service Learning page.
