Pia Velázquez Iannuzzelli

Pia Velázquez Iannuzzelli is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and has lived and studied across different countries, experiences that have shaped her global and intersectional
perspective on education and student support. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Barnard
College, Columbia University, where she majored in Anthropology and Human Rights, and is
currently pursuing an MSc in International Social and Public Policy, with a focus on Education,
at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Passionate about social justice and creating inclusive educational environments, Pia has
experience supporting students both personally and academically. As a Global Ambassador at
Barnard College, she helped international students navigate the practical and emotional
challenges of adapting to a new country and university. She has also served as a Peer Mentor,
supporting students in setting SMART goals, identifying resources, and connecting with relevant
university services. Drawing on her own experiences of navigating different educational and
cultural environments, Pia is passionate about helping students feel supported, empowered,
and connected as they pursue their academic and personal goals.
